Vendor Selection

• Technology is reviewed with the objective of meeting business requirements

• Vendors are invited to submit a proposal or respond to Request for Information

• Vendor responses are reviewed

• Technology finalists are selected

• Detailed analysis is performed

• A cross-functional selection team is assembled to analyze the technology

• Technology Analysis is Performed

• Score is compiled (see graph below)
• Decision is made

  The technology decision is analyzed for strategic / tactical value:

I.                    Strategic:

Ability to leverage asset management technology to achieve short term and long term objectives. Focused around the implementation of an asset management repository with highly integrated and extendable solution / technological functionality. Strategic objectives takes into account the:

1. Current and Future state business requirements
2. Current and Future state technology requirements
3. Organizational technology vision
4. Justification of the solution over a longer time horizon.
5. Higher initial implementation costs.
6. Technology integration capabilities
7. Technology addresses additional value added business needs.

II.                    Tactical / Strategic

Ability to implement tactical solution where the asset inventory technology has strong discovery and with some portfolio management features. The Tactical / Strategic model solution is comprised of one inventory collection database with extended features.
